Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...
Genre: Contemporary Young Adult
Publisher: Disney Hyperion
Publication Date: 5/7/13
For Cricket Thompson, a summer like this one will change everything. A summer spent on Nantucket with her best friend, Jules Clayton, and the indomitable Clayton family. A summer when she’ll make the almost unattainable Jay Logan hers. A summer to surpass all dreams.
Some of this turns out to be true. Some of it doesn’t.
When Jules and her family suffer a devastating tragedy that forces the girls apart, Jules becomes a stranger whom Cricket wonders whether she ever really knew. And instead of lying on the beach working on her caramel-colored tan, Cricket is making beds and cleaning bathrooms to support herself in paradise for the summer.
But it’s the things Cricket hadn’t counted on--most of all, falling hard for someone who should be completely off-limits--that turn her dreams into an exhilarating, bittersweet reality.
A beautiful future is within her grasp, and Cricket must find the grace to embrace it. If she does, her life could be the perfect shade of Nantucket blue.

Why I'm Waiting ~ Everything about this book screams "READ ME!". What do you guys think about Nantucket Blue?
Ack! I feel like I just found out about this book, and it's coming out in just a few months now...why does time go so fast and why are there so many books???
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the perfect summer read!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the perfect beach read. Normally I'm not really into the summery YA beach reads because they tend to be a bit TOO YA if you know what I mean. But this sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteMelissa @ Sweet Treats and Thrilling Tales
They should change the release date so it will be out in Summer! Not too mention that that cover makes me wanna go to the beach! Haha.
ReplyDeleteMy WOW post
What a great beach read, and Nantucket is not too far from the area of where I live, so I'm familiar with the island.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, doll!
Great pick! I have this one coming up for review soon. It sounds awesome. I kind of wish I could hold off til the summer though... totally a beach read!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis really does scream read me! Adding it to my to-read shelf right this minute!

Sana @ artsy musings of a bibliophile
Cricket ha This sounds like a good contemporary and you know that if it's a contemporary I'm there! Love the cover too!
ReplyDeleteOhh I just saw this on NetGalley and it sounds really good. I didn't bother requesting it since it's Hyperion and they supposedly don't approve bloggers. (Even though they really do) Great pick babe!!
ReplyDeleteI think I have this on my TBR too. Looks good!
ReplyDeleteI saw this one on Netgalley and like Amy said I saw Hyperion and TelePrompTer forgot about it. It does sound like a really good contemporary though! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteNo idea why that says teleprompter, lol!! I meant promptly, geeze.
DeleteI have an ARC of this that I can't wait to read! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
I got this from NetGalley a while ago and I haven't gotten around to reading it. It looks great, I should really get on that!
ReplyDeleteI spot this one a few weeks ago and have been trying to get it ever since. I love such stories so this one is right up my alley. Great pick!

My WOW
It really does! AND is it summer yet? Love summer books.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a stick-your-toes-in-the-sand type of read. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm going to have to start making a *summer reads* tbr list for when I get to the beach this summer.
ReplyDeleteI need to read more YA contemporaries so I think I'll have to check this one out. I love summer themes and I'm anxious to see who Cricket ends up with. Just hope I can get through the book without Stephanie Perkins's Cricket popping in my head every time I read the name...awkward. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSeems like a good read, but not right up my alley.. Anyway, thanks for sharing :D
