My Thoughts
The Woodfalls Girls series is yet another I've read out of order. I began the series with the novella Cross Country Christmas, then went to book two, Misunderstandings. And now, here I am at book one, No Attachments. Each book can easily be read as a standalone, but I'm glad to know how it all begins.
No Attachments is a sweet love story, that begins with secrets and lies. Ashton's and Nathan's secrets weren't awful, but it's hard to get ahead of these things once they start, nevermind trying to gain trust. Ashton is a girl who seems to be running from her past. But it's obvious that she's not running from trouble, but more like something she doesn't want to face yet. A friend inadvertently told me what her secret was, but I would have guessed anyway. Nathan's too. I understood where both were coming from, and wanted them to reach for that happy ending.
Because I've read Misunderstandings, I knew Ashton's friends Britni and Tressa. Britni was even more fun in this book, and Tressa was a riot. I'm really looking forward to her upcoming story, Contradictions. I can only imagine what she's going to do or say once she's center stage.
What I found in No Attachments is a story that I've come to expect from author Tiffany King. You get a heroine with a lot of spirit and snark, really good guys, and a love story that doesn't break any new barriers, but is really endearing and heartfelt. I think that's a nice combination.
