The Weekly Rewind, #117

THE WEEKLY REWIND is a weekly post in which I recap books received in the past week, what I'm looking forward to, and giveaways

I wasn't even sure I was going to post a book haul this week (still looking forward to becoming a very casual blogger!) but have a few books I'm pretty happy to post about. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

For Review

Chained by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampire, #2)

Still wrapped all up in the Outlander series, but have started reading this one too. Really liking this vampire world.

For Review Consideration

Stay with Me (Wait for You, #3)

I'd forgotten that I wanted to read this until it showed up in the mail! I do really enjoy this series, so it's going in the "someday soon" pile.

Purchases

Voyager (Outlander, #3)  After I Do

Still obsessing my way through the Outlander series. I'm currently reading Voyager - thought the first three hundred pages were going to kill me with tension and anticipation. This is truly my favorite series ever.

I bought After I Do because of Brandie is a Book Junkie. She and I share similar taste in books and both love marriage-in-crisis novels. Looking forward to this!

Freebies

The Marquess of Cake (Redcakes, #1)  Marcus Wilding: Duke of Pleasure  Slash & Burn: Volume 1  Capricious (Back to Bad, #1) Silver Storm (Raveneau, #1)  Dwell in Possibility (Worcester Nights, #1)  A Perfect Mess (A Perfect Secret Series, #1)  Release (Fire and Ice, #2)

The Weekly Rewind, #116: Book Haul and Giveaway

THE WEEKLY REWIND is a weekly post in which I recap books received in the past week, what I'm looking forward to, and giveaways.

Hi! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We're having a birthday party for the oldest, who turns nine on Monday. Where does the time go! This kid is comes to my shoulders (I'm 5'11"!) and is entirely too big for his britches.

Okay, so in July - I think - I'd mentioned my plans to dial way back on books, and I have. It's been great. I don't many books that I've taken for review, so I'm proud of that. But here's the thing: I am in the midst of an obsession. After a year of prodding from my friends Jenny and Cindy, I finally started Outlander last month. I loved it like no other, and I love the show. It's all I've been thinking about, and all I want to read. And watch. Have you watched it? Absolute perfection. So why should I not let myself read what I want? And truthfully, it only leads me to resenting the books I feel obligated to read. So what I'm doing is just letting everything else go, which I think is okay, since I never commit to dates. I have reviews scheduled to near the end of October. By then, I may feel like going back to review books. I probably will. But I want to leave myself free to reading what I wish on any given day. Or not reading at all. I am pretty obsessed with Outlander, you know. And it obviously has nothing to do with the fact that Sam Heughan (JAMMF) is not too shabby to look at, you know.

So I will still be around, and still visiting my favorite blogs. And I will review the books I feel like picking up. Somewhat. I'm just trying to figure out where I want to go moving forward.

The Weekly Rewind, #115: Book Haul and Giveaway

THE WEEKLY REWIND is a weekly post in which I recap books received in the past week, what I'm looking forward to, and giveaways.

For Review
What to Do with a Bad Boy (The McCauley Brothers, #4)  Coming in from the Cold (Gravity, #1)  Harlequin E Contemporary Romance Box Set Volume 3: Falling from the Sky\Maid to Love\When the Lights Go Down\Start Me Up  Make You Remember (Dumont Bachelors, #2)  Anew: Book One: Awakened  Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers, #1)

Oh, so I ended up getting more books than I thought, but I was super picky and really wanted these! I was very excited when What to Do with a Bad Boy showed up in my mailbox. I can't wait to start Mike and Del's story! I'm a new fan of Sarina Bowen's and am excited to start her Gravity series. I'm hoping Make You Remember is as good as I'm anticipating; same with Loving Him Off the Field! Worth the Fall has come highly recommended, so I was happy to accept a review copy from the publisher. And Anew... you guys, I've been a huge fan of Josie Litton's work for, like, fifteen years. Her Viking and Saxon series is an all-time favorite Historical Romance. When I got this review request, I almost choked. I'm so excited to read this!

For Review Consideration

I Saw Her Standing There (Green Mountain, #3)

I really liked Force's Green Mountain series, and am excited to read Colton Abbott's book. This one is definitely going on the list.

Purchases

The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years, #1)  The Year We Hid Away (The Ivy Years, #2)  Blonde Date (The Ivy Years, #2.5)  Temptation in a Kilt (Bad Boys of the Highlands, #1)

So you know how I said I'm a new fan of Sarina Bowen's? The Understatement of the Year comes out at the beginning of October. I read it last weekend and I LOVED it! She offered the rest of her Ivy Years series for review, but I'd bought these before she could even offer. If they're as good as Understatement, I am in for such a treat.

I'm chalking Temptation in a Kilt up to my current obsession with Outlander. It was on sale for only $0.99, and looks good.
