To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Sweet, innocent heroine? Check. Hot bad boy? Yep. A forbidden romance that's sure to break some hearts? You got it. Fallen Too Far is the newest release from Abbi Glines that is sure to hit the mark with her devoted readers.

I really liked Fallen Too Far. As per usual where Glines' books are concerned, I devoured it within hours. I loved that the story gets off to a fast start, with Blair unwittingly stepping into her into her father's new life, and new family. That includes her step-brother Rush, the sexy son of a rock star. A guy who is used to a fast life with fast women. He takes what he wants and moves on. Of course, Rush and Blair are insanely attracted to one another, which complicates the situation, to put it mildly. But Rush has secrets. Secrets that will change everything between them.

Blair and Rush were both characters that I quickly liked, even though some of their actions really rubbed me the wrong way (there are some things you just don't do no matter how mad you are, B). Blair is a girl who has been through a lot and is tougher than she looks. She is independent, sweet, and very naive. That's something that I don't always enjoy reading, but with Blair's situation, it did make sense. I was surprised by how much I liked Rush, too. Based on an initial feeling I got, I thought he was going to be a real tough sell. But the way he was written, despite not getting his point-of-view, I did like him. There were some hot-and-cold actions on his part, but nothing I couldn't see past. And actually, it doesn't take him long to warm up and show his true colors. Now, the chemistry between Blair and Rush is good, but Rush was so charismatic that it would be hard for him not to have chemistry with a fence post! But for some reason, I didn't feel the love between him and Blair for quite a while. Wild, intense lust? Definitely. Love? It took me a while to get there. The relationship just felt (to me) as if it went from animosity to flat-out love a little too quickly, like two weeks. But still, the steam factor is great. I want a Range Rover, is all I'm sayin'.

There were two characters who sort of stole Fallen Too Far: Grant, who is Rush's step-brother, and Woods, a friend. Grant, for his ability to lighten the mood with a smart remark, and his kindness. Woods, because he started off as a bit of a wild card and ended up being pretty awesome. Would love to see much, much more of these two in the future.

I really wasn't sure what to expect with Fallen Too Far. I think I was expecting something a little different, but what that was, I absolutely can't say because I don't even know! What I got was something I did enjoy. The ending was described to me as a huge cliffhanger, but I honestly felt like it was more of a "to be continued', because to me, it was more of a stopping point than a huge event that just leaves you hanging. I'm extremely curious to find out what happens in book two, Never Too Far.

Abbi Glines can be found hanging out with rockstars, taking out her yacht on weekends for a party cruise, sky diving, or surfing in Maui. Okay maybe she needs to keep her imagination focused on her writing only. In the real world, Abbi can be found hauling kids (several who seem to show up that don’t belong to her) to all their social events, hiding under the covers with her MacBook in hopes her husband won’t catch her watching Buffy on Netflix again, and sneaking off to Barnes and Noble to spend hours lost in the yummy goodness of books.

  1. So no love triangle right?! LOL This kind of reminds me of A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger so I think I'll like it! Although in this one the guy is wild and the girl is reserved but they have the whole step sibling thing going on. Which would make things a little awkward but also convenient! hehe

  3. As soon as I've finished my current read I'm going to dive into this one as it sounds amazing. I haven't read any books by this author before, but judging by what you've said I really need to. Great review. :)

  4. Aaaahhh!! I read the first chapter, but I didn't dare to read more, because I knew I was not going to stop if I did. I love the sound of Rush and my favorite thing ever is when I fall in love with the side characters in addition to the main ones. I need to finish my current reads and then I can devour this baby in all its glory. I'm happy you enjoyed it and hopefully Woods and Grant will pop up more in the sequel then :) Thehee. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  5. Eep! I just bought my first Gline's book this past weekend (The Vincent Boys) and I can't wait to read it. I love that this one has a son of a rock star, that's pretty sexy. I also like that with strong main characters, the side characters still managed to steal the show at times. That's always a welcome surprise for me!

  9. Oh man... I read this right after Ella and Micha and stayed up until 2:30am finishing it. (this is not the first time I've done this for an AG book, lol). Wow. I really wanted to pop Rush in the mouth at first, but good ole Abbi made me fall in love with him. I also loved Grant. Wood worried me. He seemed kind of rape(y) at first, lol. Turned out to be kind of a respectable guy :) I also agree with the ending. Wasn't exactly a cliff hanger. The way everyone was talking about it, I was expecting someone to fall off an ACTUAL cliff, HA!

  12. Hey, this is my review for today too!
I think the reason I had a hard time connecting with Rush at first was because we didn’t get a POV from him. I was more than halfway through when I finally accepted that I wasn’t gonna get it 
I still ended up liking this one and Grant and Woods were awesome! Even though Woods seemed like such a jerk at first.
I think the cliffhanger (at least for me) was more of a shock because I didn’t know there would be another book. Now I am even more excited to see where they go next.
BTW-did anyone else picture Nan as that girl Rebecca from the Vampire Diaries?

  19. Abbi's got some mad skills! Seriously, it feels like she's popping out a new book every week! Haha. Although I've been hesitant to start the Vincent Boys, I'm really intrigued by Fallen Too Far. First off can we talk about how incredibly hot the guy on the cover is? Yum!! I love that Rush is easy to love so early on. Those bad boys go through their hot-n-cold stages a lot, and I tend to get frustrated when it takes forever for their "true colors" to peak through. It sounds like there's a lot of great male characters in FTF, which because of books like Demons at Deadnight, I've begun to appreciate. Fab review! This one is officially on my gr tbr list now.

  23. Good Review! I just finished this book last night. I agree, I really liked Grant & think he deserves his own book. (:
I agree at first I wasn't sure about Rush but after he cooked her the Mexican meal he won me over and then I felt the love.
Your favorite quote was mine as well - my heart was breaking.
    Happy New Year!
