Welcome to the Holy Frigging Matrimony Blog Tour! My stop includes a review and (great!) giveaway.

Holy Frigging Matrimony - A Tangled Series Short Story (Tangled, #1.5)Series: #1.5
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: 12/5/13
Format: eARC
Source: Publicist
Rating: 4 stars

What does Drew Evans have to say next? Find out in this forty page short story, filled with his sexy charm, unique advice and hilarious one-liners.

Marriage: the final frontier. Steven went first. He was kind of our test subject. Like those monkeys that NASA sent off into space in the fifties, all the while knowing they’d never make it back.

And now another poor rocket is ready to launch.

But this isn’t just any posh New York wedding. You’ve seen my friends, you’ve met our families, you know you're in for a treat. Everyone wants their wedding to be memorable. This one’s going to be un-frigging-forgettable.

Holy Frigging Matrimony takes place about a year after Tangled’s end and is from Drew’s POV.

First of all, I really need to thank my friend Cindy for alerting me to the Holy Frigging Matrimony blog tour, and declaring our friendship weighed on whether I signed up. She is also the person responsible for my reading Tangled in the first place. The best kind of bully is a book bully.

Second, I'm so freaking glad I had the opportunity to read Holy Frigging Matrimony early. Really glad. I almost always love reading from a dude's point-of-view. I cannot think of any dude's point-of-view who is more fun to read than Drew's. Emma Chase has an immense talent.

Holy Frigging Matrimony is such a short and fun read. But it would honestly be easy for me to write a long review about it, specifically about how much I love Drew and Kate. I would like to point out that Holy Frigging Matrimony is a short story. Not a novel. Not a novella. A short story. More accurately, approximately forty pages of pure sexy, funny awesomeness. I can also say that I was very surprised, pleasantly so, by the direction of the story.

If you loved Tangled, you will not want to miss this quickie from Drew. Holy Frigging Matrimony is definitely worth a read.

Favorite Quotes:

I run my fingers through her hair. "I like you sweaty. You should stay like this."
  Her nose wrinkles. "I smell."
I press my face against her neck and inhale dramatically. "You smell like sweat and sex...and me. It's hot. Eau de Cum kicks Chanel Number Five's ass."   ~eARC, 28%

My brow furrows in mock confusion. "I'm sorry--I don't speak vagina. Just what the hell is that supposed to mean?"   ~eARC, 46%

  1. Hmmm.... I was a bridesmaid when I was 16 at my own mother's wedding!! Just a couple of years ago I flew a short distance frommy home in Mexico City to Cabo San Lucas for my older sister's wedding. I was fine until the day of when I was totally NOT FINE!! Luckily, I pushed through and was able to keep myself together throughout the day. I wasn't able to enjoy the comped meal or any alcoholic beverages, unfortunately. Most recently, I was a bride's maid at my younger sister's wedding to her high school sweet heart. Nothing but love and joy for that wedding!

    1. I forgot to mention that my mom and the groom were married for 9 years and had a terrible falling out. So much so that he abandoned me and my daughter that looked to him as a grandfather!

  2. I have only ever attended one wedding and that was a boring one!

  3. My daughter had her wedding in Fern Forrest. It was beautiful!

  4. If by eventful you mean was a bridesmaid in a river cruise wedding that had an open bar & the wedding party had their own waiter & when we finally docked (when I was about 15 very mixed liquor beverages later) I almost threw up on myself and the bride, then sure. LOL Is it any wonder I barely drink anymore? *sigh* To be 20 again...

I am an unabassed book bully. To be fair, I only bully because I love. I'm not always the easiest person to please book wise but when I find things I love (the way I love this series & Emma Chase), I don't know how to shut up about it. And to be fair, I am always right. lol

I know it's a pain for you to comment, so, thank you!

I will take your bullying any day. Thank you for turning me on to Tangled!

  5. I love book bullies! LOL! I also enjoyed this one! I am really nervous about Twisted though, especially after reading the blurb... Sigh. Drew, Drew, Drew.

  6. The last wedding was eventful because of the kids! The bride's nephew and ring bearer ran to her while she was walking up the aisle. Another baby was crying during the ceremony. And then the ring bearer and one of the flower girls were walking around during most of the ceremony with their grandparents (parents of the bride) chasing them down.

  7. Not really :) They've been pretty standard. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Don't know if this counts as eventful but at my wedding, my nephew, the ring bearer, had a jolly time tossing the pillow up and catching it all during the ceremony. Then, one of our friends got extremely intoxicated at our receptionand was sitting under the tables, entertaining all the kids with a fish bowl on her head! We lovingly refer to her as 'under the table Anne'.

Great review, Andrea. I'm dying to meet Drew!

  9. At my cousins wedding two of the groomsmen got in to what started as a verbal altercation and quickly escalated to punches being thrown and cops being called, this was DURING the ceremony and to this day I'm not 100% sure what caused the fight but it stopped the entire ceremony for almost 2 hours and needless to say her husband is no longer friends with either of the groomsmen.

  11. I guess mine would have been the most eventful. First my sister who was my maid of honor stepped into my shower and slipped grabbing the shower head and ripping it out of the wall! We had to shower at a neighbors house. Next we were at the church getting ready and another bridesmaid arrived with our dresses 10 minutes after the wedding was suppose to start. Next we had reserved 2 limos for the wedding party and only one showed up because the other needed repairs. At the wedding dinner our cake was still raw in the middle and to cap it all off the hotel got our reservations wrong and we didn't have a room for our wedding night! So we just went to our house and kick my sister out of our bed. haha Even tho all those things happened we took it all in stride and had an awesome day! haha

  13. This one was funny!
I'm not really a wedding person, I haven't been to one in years. My family tells me the reason I refuse to get married is because I hate weddings :)

  14. This sounds like so much fun. I have Tangled, but haven't gotten to it yet, though Nereyda told me I need to move it to the top of my review list. I kind of like that this is a short story to. Nice review!!

  15. I haven't been to many weddings but the ones I have been to were pretty uneventful. I only know of about the behind the scenes stuff at my wedding but it all worked out.

  18. My brother will be getting married next year, so I'm hoping that would be an eventful wedding. But, as of yet nope. I've had fun, but nothing major!

  19. I think I need more interesting friends...every wedding I have ever attended has been pretty boring!

  20. Loved Tangled and really want to read this one! Great review.

As for eventful weddings....just family drama stuff and nothing fun.

  21. I love male POV too! And I'm glad you pointed out how short it is. I think I would consider picking it up since I know it's not a big time commitment.

  23. Ooohhh I loved Tangled! Didn't realize this was coming out. Drew is quite the character so I'm sure it will be good. I've never been to any eventful weddings but I have a friend that is a wedding photographer and he makes a bloopers video every year of all the weddings he films and I about died laughing! Lots of fires and bridesmaids passing out. I used to cater weddings but I can't remember anything crazy happening which is too bad because I was always hoping for a good story.

  28. Fun quotes!!!! I love your mini review! I love reading from a guys POV as well, and plan on reading this when I have some extra time. Between you, Nereyda, and Mikki's recommendation for these books--I know I'll love them!

  32. No particularly eventful weddings for me.

  33. I was Maid of Honor at my friend's wedding...and the night before her fiance did something dumb and she spent the evening crying. We sat at a Denny's next to the hotel until about 1am trying to either console her or find out if she wanted to cancel. Once we got something for her puffy cried-out eyes the next morning, all was good and the show was still on. It was quite dramatic.

  34. Not really, when it comes to my family, the drama happens behinds the scenes!
