A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER WITH THE VINCENT BOYS

A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER

About the "A November to Remember" Blog Tour

The Vincent Boys is a seductive story of attraction and betrayal. This November, the Vincent boys are helping us remember the guys who have both stolen and broken our hearts.

The Vincent Boys is all about that sexy bad boy, Beau Vincent. I searched high and low to find the perfect photo of my ideal Beau. I think I did a pretty great job.

For those of you who've read The Vincent Boys, I'm sure you know which scene this photo makes me think of.

Beau is okay with being the town's bad boy. He is content letting Sawyer be the "Good Vincent Boy", the boy with money, stable home, the quarterback. The one thing Sawyer has that he can't let go of is Ash.

I love Beau Vincent because he represents taking chances on love. Beau recognizes the wild, sweet spirit that he knows Ash still has, hidden deep down. He is determined to help Ash rediscover that side of herself. With Beau, Ash can truly be herself again.

"Good isn't my thing but Sawyer's important to me. Please remember I've got my limits and you studying my mouth like you want a taste is pushing me dangerously close to the edge of those limits." ~Beau Vincent

The Vincent BoysGet seduced by a sizzling account of attraction and betrayal in this previously self-published phenomenon.
There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly?

Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.

Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist....

The Vincent BrothersHot romance is the cure for heartbreak in this sequel to The Vincent Boys.

Getting a boy to fall head-over-heels in love with you isn’t easy. Especially when he’s been in love with your cousin for as long as you can remember.

Lana has lived her life in her cousin’s shadow. Ashton always made perfect grades, had tons of friends, and looks model-perfect. And she’s always had Sawyer Vincent—the only boy Lana’s ever wanted—wrapped around her finger. But now things are different. Lana has a chance to make Sawyer see her, and she’s taking it. If only he’d get over Ashton—because Lana is sick of second-best.

Sawyer’s heart is broken. He’s lost his best girl to his best friend. And then Lana comes to town. Ashton’s cousin has always been sweet and soft-spoken, but now she’s drop-dead gorgeous as well. Sawyer doesn’t know if Lana can heal his broken heart, but spending time with her might at least make Ashton jealous.

What starts as a carefree fling becomes a lusty game of seduction. Sawyer and Lana may have different motives, but their scintillating hookups are the same kind of steamy. . .

Review and Giveaway ~ THE VINCENT BROTHERS (The Vincent Boys #2) by Abbi Glines

The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys, #2)
He may have given her up without a fight, but Sawyer Vincent is far from over losing the girl he’s loved all of his life. Instead of giving up his best friend and the girl he thought he’d spend forever with, he gave Ashton and his brother Beau his blessing. However, adjusting to seeing Ashton wrapped up in Beau’s arms isn’t easy. Complicating everything even more, Ashton’s cousin Lana is in town for the summer. Sweet, kind, soft-spoken Lana, who gets under his skin. Just being near her makes him forget all about Ashton and his broken heart. Lana is everything he wanted Ashton to be except she isn’t Ashton. She lacks the backbone to stand up for herself and confidence that Ashton wears like a crown.                                            Lana McDaniel has lived her life in her cousin's shadow. While Lana struggled with her grades no matter how hard she tried, her mother praised Ashton's intelligence. She hadn’t been blessed with Ashton’s blond hair and flawless skin, but that didn't keep her mother from lamenting her naturally red hair and freckles. But none of that would have mattered if Ashton hadn’t always had Sawyer Vincent wrapped around her finger -- the only boy Lana wanted. Once Ashton let Sawyer go, Lana had been so sure that he’d move on. Determined to make Sawyer finally see her, she'd talked her mother into letting her spend the summer with Ashton. But Sawyer is still in love with Ashton, and Lana isn’t going to be anyone's rebound girl. No matter how yummy Sawyer Vincent’s kisses taste.                   ~From GoodReads
"They're hard to resist."
"Don't I know it."
(pg 35, eARC)

Sigh.... I don't even know how to write this review, y'all. I mean, I am a pool of goo. If you know me very well, you know I am a huge fan of Abbi Glines' books. Huge. I loved THE VINCENT BOYS (my review) and when Abbi told me she was writing another Vincent boys book, I'm pretty sure my squeals were heard miles away.

The number one thought I had when I started reading the book was, "Can Sawyer carry a book as well as Beau?". Beau Vincent, he's a tough act to follow. Beau and Sawyer are opposites in every way. Beau is full of swagger *swoon*, but Sawyer has a quiet demeanor. Beau is openly passionate about Ash, Sawyer is more reserved. Beau likes to drink and live it up, Sawyer goes to parties but doesn't drink much. All that may lead you to believe Sawyer is boring. I mean, I thought he was a big snooze in THE VINCENT BOYS. Ohhhhhh, how I was wrong. I should have known better. It's always the quiet ones who end up catching you by surprise, isn't it? I'm absolutely not going to give anything about this book away, but when I think about Sawyer...*shivers*.

I had the same issue with Lana McDaniel. Ash's cousin was in THE VINCENT BOYS long enough for me to think I knew her.  Lana thought Ash was crazy for leaving Sawyer for Beau. She thought Ash was handling everything wrong, and let her know it. All I thought about Lana was "What a buzzkill." Again, I was wrong. I only knew Lana from Ash's perspective. I was caught off guard by how quickly I began to love her. Lana is great. She's so strong, so forgiving, so loving.

Sawyer and Lana together. Gahhhh. I don't know how Abbi does it. There are some scenes that were so steamy, I had to stick my head in the freezer. And the funny thing is, the scenes aren't "graphic" at all. Or maybe I'm just easy, I dunno. Anyhow, it's good stuff.
Here's the deal. When Abbi sent me this book, I freaked out. I was so excited. One of my BFF's Autumn (from Autumn Review) and I read the book "together",which consists of DMs and texts since we live hours away from one another. We both stayed up until 3:30am reading THE VINCENT BROTHERS. As soon as we woke up the next morning, we started talking about the book again. Then, we talked on the phone for an hour that afternoon about all the little things that hit us so hard. I actually teared up when we were talking about it. I guess my point is, Abbi Glines' books have a special quality about them that resonates with me so deeply. I've called it her "special sauce". I can't tell you exactly what it is, but I know I'm going to find it each time I open her books. And that feeling, it is worth everything when it comes to reading.

Bottom Line: If you loved THE VINCENT BOYS, you will certainly love THE VINCENT BROTHERS.

Favorite Quotes:

" 'You think I'm a better choice than Beau? He's the bad one, you know. The dangerous one. Girls like bad boys.' His voice had dropped to a low rumble. I shivered as he took another step closer, his eyes never leaving their study of my lips. It had been awhile since I'd reapplied lip gloss. I wondered if they were dry.
Forcing myself to remain calm, I responded, 'Not all girls.' " (pg 21, eARC)

You guys, I may die from happiness. Surely by now, you know how much I love Abbi Glines' books. I feel like I'm tweeting or blogging about them at least once a week. So you can imagine how freaking excited I was when Glines told me she was writing a follow-up to THE VINCENT BOYS! I can hardly wait to read this book. I can assure you, I will read it the moment I get it. So, before I hyperventilate just thinking about it, here is the cover for

The Vincent Boys Blog Tour ~ Character Interview with Beau Vincent

Hi! Welcome to today's stop on The Vincent Boys Blog Tour, hosted by Julie at A Tale of Many Reviews. My stop on the tour includes an interview with my favorite character, Beau Vincent. But first, take a look at The Vincent Boys, by Abbi Glines.

Being the good girl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Ashton Gray has grown weary of playing the part to please her parents, and to be worthy of the town’s prince charming, Sawyer Vincent. Maybe That’s why she’s found herself spending time with Sawyer’s cousin, Beau, while he’s away for the summer camping with his family. Beau is nothing like her perfect boyfriend. He’s the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, dangerous in ways she’s only day dreamed about, and the one guy she should stay away from.
Beau never envied Sawyer his loving parents, his big nice home, or his position as quarterback. He loves him like a brother. Which is why he's tried everything in his power to keep his distance from Sawyer’s girlfriend. Even if he has loved her since the age of five, Ashton is Sawyer’s girl, so therefore she’s off limits. But when Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton, the one girl Beau would move Heaven and Earth for, decides she wants to get into trouble. Stabbing the one person who’s always accepted him and stood by him in the back, is the cost of finally holding Ashton Gray in his arms. Is she worth losing his cousin over?.... Hell Yeah.
(From GoodReads)
You can check out my review of The Vincent Boys here.

Like I said, Beau is my favorite character from the book. And you can bet, I was so freaking excited to get to ask him a few questions. I hope you love reading Beau's answers as much as I did. Enjoy!

BB: "Beau, you are well-known to be quite the beer drinker. What's your beer of choice?"
BV: "Budweiser or whatever is on tap."
(For the record, this blog does not condone underage drinking. But, come on, I had to ask!)

BB: "I believe you can tell a lot about a guy by the music he listens to. What is your favorite music
        genre/band or singer/song?"
BV: "I like a good mix. Not sure there is a favorite. If I had to pick one band it would be Aerosmith.
However, I listen to Toby Keith, Kings of Leon, and The Greatful Dead that should give you an
idea of my range of music preferences."

BB: "Does your "bad boy" label ever frustrate or upset you?"
BV: "Hell no. Well, I take that back. With Ashton's dad it sucks."

BB: "What are your plans after high school?"
BV: "I might actually be considering college."
(BB: Higher education for the win!)

BB: "What is your favorite childhood memory of Ash?"
BV: "The day I taught her to flip off the rope swing. She was scared as shit but so damn determined.
Every time she let go she'd squeal so loud it would make my ears ring. "

BB: "Is there anything Ash does that drives you crazy?"
BV: "This could be a pretty long list. I'll just name a few things. Her tight shirts annoy the hell out of
me. The fact she now distracts me in unfair ways in order to beat me at pool which is happening a
lot lately. Her close relationship to my Mom. Wait... is she going to read this?"
BB: "I'll see if I can distract her."

BB: "How did you feel when you realized Ash & Sawyer were together?"
BV: "Like someone had kicked me in the stomach several times. I never saw that one coming but then
I was young and I took Ash and me for granted."

BB: "Honestly, do you ever find Sawyer just a little boring?"
BV: "Hell yes I do. The boy visits our grandmother like five damn times a week at the nursing home
and she doesn't even know who he is anymore. It's all part of his Mr. Perfect thing he has going.
It's just the way he is though. The guy can't help it."
(BB: I have to admit, Sawyer is a pretty great guy.)

Do you see why I love Beau Vincent? If only he wasn't tragically too young for me. Sigh.

My Review

I'm going to break a little hard-and-fast rule I have for myself. It's no biggie, just something I try to never do. Here goes:  OMG, Y'ALL!! Ridiculous right? I have no problem with others saying OMG, it's just sounds ridiculous when I say it. But, OMG, OMG, OMG! The Vincent Boys completely rocked my world!

I was in a bit of a reading slump. I had been reading some awesome books (The Iron Queen and Bad to the Bone). And then, Zzzzzzz. The books (who will not be named) are not bad, just, ya know, not what I was looking for.  When author Abbi Glines sent me the email with the book attached, I wanted it, bad. But, I had other books to read first. Still, I just kept looking at it, and still wanting it. So, yesterday afternoon, I looked around me, and said "Eff it. I'm reading The Vincent Boys now." But I was actually alone in my living room, so that was weird.

Anywayyy, I am SO, SO glad that I chucked everything out the window and opened up the delicious file that contained The Vincent Boys. This book had everything that makes for a fun, sexy, and enjoyable read.

Starting with the characters. Ashton was so fabulous. She is the perfect preacher's daughter, with the perfect boyfriend and perfect life. But, she's perfectly bored, as well. Her inner turmoil over what she should do and what she wants to do felt authentic. She wants to be what is expected of her, but she also wants to be the girl who knows how to have fun and get into a little trouble.

As for the Vincent boys, Sawyer and Beau, oh boy! I don't even know where to start with these two. Their both gorgeous, athletic, and have both been in love with Ashton for years. But they also couldn't be more different, personality-wise. Sawyer is sweet, respectful, everyone loves him. He has his, and Ashton's, whole future planned out. He's a really great guy.

And then, there was Beau. This is where I start OMG-ing again. Good lord, Abbi created quite a specimen when she invented Beau! I think we've all come across a Beau before (mine's name was Jody, looong story. I still smile like an idiot when I think about him. Heck, my mom still talks about him!). You know, the kind of guy who makes you want to do really bad things? Beau is trouble. Well, he seems to be, anyway. But Ashton knows a Beau no one else knows. Beneath his swagger and tough guy exterior, lies a guy who would do anything for the girl he loves.

I have to say, Abbi Glines did a terrific job incorporating a "true" Southern dialect into her story. I've come across some really bad attempts at Southern dialect before. Some that tried too hard, some that just downright offended me. She used terms and phrases that I never get to see when I'm reading and I adored it. Everytime I came across a phrase that I use in real life, I couldn't help but smile.

On a serious note, this book should come with a disclaimer. The disclaimer should read:
Do not attempt to read this book while using your elliptical. You will fall when the author shocks your ass off with a revelation of epic proportions.

You're laughing, but that's a true story. My knee still hurts.

The moral of the story? Be careful, people. The Vincent Boys is so awesome, it hurts.

Favorite Quote:

studying my mouth like you want a taste is pushing me dangerously close to the edge of those
   limits.'"
