Synopsis

Scottish Duke, Liam Stewart, needs a wife and an heir before he can inherit the money he so desperately needs to support his family, his staff, and restore his ducal estates their former glory. Only ever since his ex-fiancée ran off with the gardener, Liam doesn’t believe in marriage, or miracles, for that matter, until that is, Isabella Edwards appears at his Edinburg townhome with the answers to his problems.
Local preacher’s daughter and former missionary, Isabella Edwards had the perfect life all planned out. Marry her perfect fiancé, live near her family in Holland Springs, open a bookstore, and have a couple of kids. Except her fiancé ran off to Las Vegas with his widowed ex-stepmother, the bookstore closed before it could open, and now… now, she’s pregnant after a one-weekend stand with hot Scot, Liam Stewart.
To Isabella’s utter shock, Liam proposes, but a marriage can’t last on desire alone. The problem? Isabella and Liam are total opposites.  In fact, the only time they’re in agreement is in the bedroom. Desperate to keep her reputation, she accepts.  Her only hope is that they can put aside their differences and let love bring them together.

She turned excitedly to Liam as he returned from the bathroom and entered their private room, practically bouncing in her seat. "Is this festival for the whole town?" she asked, and then her jaw dropped. Liam wore a purple, green, blue and red kilt, with a wide belt, a pouch made of fur and leather in the middle, and a white button down shirt. His boots were polished and his socks matched the material of the tartan.
"You're wearing a kilt," she said, stating the very obvious.
"I'm wearing the Chief's tartan. I'm the head of my clan." He tilted his head at a cocky angle. "Most of the men attending today will be wearing something like this."
"So, you're finally wearing a kilt for me," she said with a little clap.
  "Aye."
She wondered if he wore anything underneath it at all.
He leaned forward and dipped his head. "I ken what you're thinking, lass. And it's true."
  "What's true?"
The sexiest smile she'd ever seen curved his lips. "I'm not wearing a bloody damn thing."
Oh. My. Gosh. He was joking. He had to be joking. "What if the wind blows your kilt up?" She licked her lips as she ran her gaze over him once more. She had a feeling she would be doing that all day.
He shrugged and then straightened. Then he did something that never in a million years she thought she'd find sexy. Or maybe because she'd never thought she'd ever see a man doing it. Hitching up one side of his kilt, he turned around and cast a glance over his shoulder. "How do my legs look, lass?"
His legs? She could barely tear her gaze away from his tight, muscular bare butt. "You weren't kidding," she breathed.
"If I wore anything under it, then it would be a skirt."
"We can't have that, can we?" She had to look away. Only she didn't want to look away. She didn't have to look away. Liam and his bare behind were hers. If she wanted to bite or smack one of his cheeks, she could and he, the lusty man, would probably order her to do it again.
He let the material fall, and her lips drew up into a pout.
"I wasn't done looking," she complained as he held out his hand. She took it and stood on her feet.
"I assumed you wanted to go to the festival today," he said, and she didn't miss the gleam in his dark eyes.
  "I do."
  "Then you were done looking."

My Review

I have a sad confession: I love Bella Andre books, and I love sports romance, but I've never read any of Bella Andre's Game For Love series. I need to remedy that ASAP, but in the meantime, I loved All the Right Moves!

I've known this for a while, but Marquita Valentine does good novella. All the Right Moves only solidifies this in my mind. This is a story that read like a full-length novel. It has a great set-up, with Ryan and Ashley meeting in puppy parenting class. Ryan is interested in Ashley, but after a bad breakup with her pro-football boyfriend, Ashley's not interested in a relationship with another player. Ryan's not like her ex, though, and he was a fantastic leading man. He was this totally hot alpha man, but also really nice and sensitive to Ashley's wants and needs. Ashley was a sweetheart, but had enough snark to appeal to the jerk in me. lol The issues holding Ryan and Ashley apart was true to the story and weren't contrived or overreaching at all. The story was wrapped up well, with an ending that had me smiling and so very satisfied.

All the Right Moves was so great. I cared about the characters and their HEA. It was sexy and charming, and lands at the top of my favorite Marquita Valentine novels. AND, it has me dying to read the Game For Love series. An all-around win!

Over the tops of the trees, the Atlanta skyline rose. “I like being so close to the city, but far enough away that it feels like I’m in the country.”

“Your yard is huge. Big enough to play a pickup game,” he said. “Maybe I should buy a place out here.”

Her heart beat out a funny rhythm at the thought of Ryan becoming her neighbor. “I plan on putting a pool in, but I can’t decide where exactly, because I’d have to remove a few trees,” she said, sinking down in the love seat.

Ryan stood there for a moment and then joined her. “But if you put in a pool, you’ll lose most of your yard.”

“That’s the other reason I’m taking so long. I’m still weighing the pros and cons,” she laughed.

His thigh brushed hers and she heard him suck in a breath. Leaning forward, she set her glass down, and then turned to him, tucking her legs beside her. The movement brought them closer together.

She brought one arm up along the back of the couch and propped her head in her hand. “You’re not drinking your tea,” she pointed out.

He glanced from his drink to her. “I’m still weighing the pros and cons.”

“Of drinking tea?”

Carefully he set his glass beside hers and then slid closer. “No, not that.” He ran his fingers along the side of her neck, and then slid them behind her head. “This.”

And then he kissed her.

From Chapter One

Every Wednesday, at precisely four o’clock, Everly Andrews enters my bookstore to pick up her latest package of romance novels. We’ve been doing this for over a month now. She gives me a list of five books—sometimes ten if she wants to gift a few to her friends—and then, I give her a future date. Sure, the books come in quite a bit faster than a week, but it’s the shortest amount of time between her visits I can allow.
Any shorter, and I’d put her in danger. And that is not acceptable.
You see, I don’t actually sell romance novels. I don’t sell books at all. My store is a front. I’m a death dealer—an avenging angel to some... while others would pay millions to see me die.  I can’t blame them really. An eye for an eye, and all that.
Everly is the only one in this city I talk to on a regular basis, even if she’s the one doing most of the talking while I answer as vaguely as possible without sounding like an arse. In any case, it’s practically four and I’m bound to start pacing if she doesn’t show up soon. Habitual people like Everly are a comfort to me, and yet that source of comfort is their greatest weakness.
A weak spot in their armor, if you will.
The bells on the front door ring, and I let out a breath. I don’t particularly like the sound, but in my line of work, a bloke needs the extra time it affords.
Automatically, my hand goes to the gun strapped under the counter, only relaxing when I catch a glimpse of mahogany waves gleaming.
Here comes my weak spot. My solnyshko. My sunshine.

About Not Over You
Summer Holland is set on one thing--convincing her childhood sweetheart *and* local preacher's son, Gabriel Edwards, to marry her so she can get back the daughter she gave up for adoption. She’s always been able to count on him to rescuing her when she needed it most, but this time is different… there’s a new woman in Gabriel’s life. Only, Summer's not going to let a little thing like that get in her way.

It would be a marriage of major inconvenience…

There’s only been one woman for Gabriel Edwards—Summer Holland, the daughter of Holland Spring's most notorious woman. But unless Summer needs cash, food or a place to stay, she wants nothing to do with him. He’s done playing her knight in shining armor. He’s finally found the woman to settle down with—the town’s newest librarian. She’s smart and sweet, and wholly in love with him. Nothing and no one will get in the way of his plans... until, that is, Summer comes home to Holland Springs, and needs his help once more.

Determined to protect her heart, Summer tries to keep Gabriel at arm's length, but with one hot kiss, she realizes that not only did she get more than she bargained for, but she might not be over him.

The sun slipped under the horizon, making his running lights visible along the blacktop. Great. Just great. How was he supposed to find her?

Light glowed from the forest of pine trees by the old Holland place. He slowly braked, put the truck in park, and rolled down the passenger side window, watching as the bugs blinked on and off.
Before he knew what was happening, he’d unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door, and strode into the forest. He crept through the woods, quiet as a predator hunting his prey, and then came to a sight that stole his breath away.
Summer, all alone in a meadow of spring flowers. Well, if you didn’t count the fireflies dancing around her.
Laughing with pure joy, she waved a hand in the air. The fireflies followed her movements, reminding him of kids playing with sparklers on the Fourth of July.
  His gut clenched.
The fireflies continued their dance, moths joining in. Something swept past him. He followed the blur and realized it was a bat, most likely trying to eat the conveniently placed snack.
Summer laughed again, drawing his attention back to her. She threw out her arms and spun around. He felt himself drift closer, like he was one of those moths…and she the flame.
“Summer.” Her name a prayer on his lips. A plea in his heart.
