Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, handsome, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.
A man who has made mistakes.
Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

Surrender Your Love was a happy surprise for me earlier this year, and with it's shocking ending, I was more than ready to devour Conquer Your Love. This installment in the series reveals the dangers Brooke's inheritance entails, and more importantly, whether Jett can convince her that his feelings for her are true and the lengths he will go to in order to prove it.
Conquer Your Love picks up shortly after the end of book one, with both Jett and Brooke brokenhearted. Jett wants to give Brooke her space, yet wants her back. Brooke is determined to get over him, but is finding that easier said than done. When Brooke heads to Italy to meet her distant relative from whom she is inheriting an estate, Jett knows she's headed for danger and is quick to follow. I was worried that the entirety of this book would be Brooke avoiding Jett, Jett begging for another chance, and bickering between them all the way. Thank goodness that this was not the case. Conquer Your Love focuses more on the re-establishment of the relationship and what happens next. It also focuses on who wants to keep Brooke in the dark about the estate, and how far they'll go to get her out of the way. That aspect led to some great action and suspense in the story.

Don't ever trust a guy with a Southern accent, a lazy smile, and a casual stance, because he's about to sneak his way into your panties without even trying.

Now isn't that the truth? In Surrender Your Love, Jett Mayfield was a mystery. A sexy, infuriating mystery, but still. Jett wasn't portrayed in the best light at the very end of that book, but I had faith that he genuinely cared for Brooke and wanted to keep her safe. In Conquer Your Love, Jett is definitely determined to redeem himself in Brooke's eyes, and he is very convincing. There is nothing hotter than a man who is completely in love and full of devotion. Brooke's willingness to hear Jett out and to give him the opportunity to prove himself made me like her so much. The fact that she really wants things to work out with Jett took a lot of potential frustration out of the story.
I really enjoyed Conquer Your Love. I find Reed's writing to have a really nice flow to it, and to be sophisticated as well. It has some very heated moments that avoid being too graphic, which makes it  a story that will appeal to romantics. The ending of Conquer Your Love is not a shock like the first book, but there is a very nice surprise that had me smiling. I will be anxiously awaiting the third and final book in the series, Treasure Your Love.
