Meet Liv Michaels
It may have been seven years, but I’d know him anywhere. Sure, he’s grown, filled out in all the right places, but his captivating blue eyes and cocky grin are exactly the way I remember. Even though I’d much rather forget.

Liv Michaels is almost there. She’s smart, determined and weeks away from landing the job she’s dreamed about for years. Time healed old wounds, even her broken heart from the devastation of being crushed by her first love.

Meet Vince Stone
Women love a fighter, especially a good one. Lucky for me, I’m damn good. But there’s one woman that isn’t interested. Not again, anyway.

Vince ‘The Invincible’ Stone is every woman’s fantasy…strong, sexy, confident and completely in control. Growing up surrounded by chaos, he’s learned never to get too attached. Love will drag you down. He adores women, treats them well, puts their own needs before his own…for the night anyway. With the biggest fight of his life coming up, his focus should be on training.

When fate brings Vince & Liv back together again, there’s no denying the chemistry is still there. But can Vince erase the old scars their past left behind? Or will Liv hurt him instead?

First Impression... Another nice cover for this series.  I really liked Worth the Fight, and was excited to see that Vinny was getting his own book.

The Story...Vinny Stonetti, the teen we met in Worth the Fight, is all grown up, a fighter, and goes by the name Vince Stone. When Liv, a girl from his past walks into his present, Vince wants to show her that he's not the same self-destructive kid who broke her heart. Prove he's worth taking a chance on.

The Characters... Vince was a tough, troubled kid in Worth the Fight, so I was assuming the same would be true here. I was both right and wrong. While he is still tough and has major badass attitude, he's not out of control. Recently, with the help of Nico (the hero of Worth the Fight), Vince has made a lot of good changes in his life. No drugs, no out of control behavior, though he still sleeps with groupies like crazy. But hey, that's nothing new, right? So my point is, it's nice to have a hero who's already come through the bad stuff, and in a good place in his life. He didn't need Liv to fix him. Yay!

As for Liv, she really had herself together as well. She's preparing for her career, with only one assignment left that is standing between her and her dream job as a journalist. Her assignment is the infamous fighter, you guessed it, Vince Stone. Now we have Liv fighting for a job and fighting her attraction to Vince. But it seems there's a big secret to Vince's past, one that could destroy him and give her what she's dreamed of. This sets Liv on a difficult path, one that I'm not sure she could truly avoid and do the exact right thing about. She's so concerned for Vince, and I felt for her dilemma. So basically what I'm saying is, I found Liv to be a very likable character and felt she always did the best she could to protect the man she cares for, and herself.

Bonus: it was so cool to see Nico and Elle again!

The Writing... This is the fourth of Keeland's books I've read and once again, I do like her style. While the trouble fighter and the sweet heroine story isn't new by any stretch, I feel she managed to make it her own. I really liked the angle with Vince's past coinciding with her job, and think it gave the story a good level of suspense.  Even though you know it's coming, the big conflict still had a lot impact. And the resolution, with Vince and Liv rescuing each other, it was great.

The Heat... Worth the Chance is pretty naughty! It's possible that my memory is failing me, but I don't remember Worth the Fight being this spicy. Vince Stone has a really dirty mouth and a vivid imagination and Liv was all about that. FUN!

In the End... I enjoyed Worth the Chance, more than I initially realized. I picked this one up expecting to read a few pages and ended up reading the entirety with a few hours.  Looks like the series will have a third book, and based on who it's about, you can go ahead and sign me up.

Favorite Quotes:

He is who he is, and makes no apology if it's not what you expect. In a strange way, I was always a little envious of him. The ability to live your own life, truly for yourself, is such an easy thing to say, but such a difficult thing to do.

"I'm not sure I can do slow around you, Liv." His voice is back to gentle and sweet. "But I'll promise you I'll try. If that's what it takes, I will...I'll try." Vinny pulls back his head to look directly into my eyes. "Trust me about one thing, Liv...whatever is going on between us, it's going to happen. You can make it as difficult as you want, but we, Liv, are going to happen. Neither one of us can stop it."
Somehow, down deep, I just know he's right.

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

I'm going to get off to a completely shallow start and say... Look at that cover. Let's not kid ourselves, the cover will play a significant factor into readers giving Worth the Fight a chance. I know it definitely played a part in my decision. But, also a big factor was that I have previously read two of Keeland's other books - Made for You and Belong to You - and really enjoyed them. In the end, one can only hope that a cover that hot is backed by a good story.

Worth the Fight was a truly enjoyable book. It has several aspects that always work for me. The characters were likeable. Elle is a hard-working young attorney who takes her job seriously, but wasn't a perfectionist. She's perpetually late for appointments, something I can relate to, and I liked that she does do a good job, but wasn't annoyingly perfect. Elle finds herself coasting along in life, and seems to be woken up by the presence of Nico. Now, based on the cover, you get a pretty clear picture of what Nico may be like. Yes, he's a tatted up, fighter, but didn't seem like a "bad boy" at all. In fact, he hardly mentions a life of parties and women. I'm sure that it's implied that he has a bit of wild past, but it wasn't in the reader, or Elle's, face. Nico just seems like a genuinely good guy, a motivated fighter and businessman, and completely devoted to winning Elle.

Another aspect to Worth the Fight that worked for me was the nice, tolerable level of angst. Nico and Elle both have demons from their past. Nico's is in the forefront, Elle's is buried. It does play a part in their story, their motivations and decisions, but it didn't seem to take over and run the story, or overdone just for the sake of it.

Being that Worth the Fight is the third book of Keeland's I've read, I have a sense for her writing style, and I like it. This book was no exception. The writing is fluid and pulled me in instantly. I think I can speak for nearly all readers when I say that finding an author that will consistently deliver a well-written enjoyable story is invaluable.

Worth the Fight is a standalone novel. I happen to love a good standalone, but I would definitely enjoy more. Luckily, I love companion stories, and it seems that there will be a companion book, Worth the Chance, about a secondary character. It's already on my 2014 to-read list.

Favorite Quotes:

"You're smart and confident and the people around you seem to love you." He stops and watches me, I can tell hi is deciding to continue. "And when I look into your eyes I see a little light flicker..."
He pauses for a second. I look at him, but still don't speak.
"And for the last twenty-four hours all I could think about was what it would take for me to turn that flicker into a flame."   ~eARC, 11%

"Mine." It's the first word he says to me and the last before his lips crash down on me in the most wildly, sensual, seductive, possessive kiss I've ever had. One of his hands snakes around the back of my neck and he pulls me tighter to him. I feel the inexplicable need to chase away every single molecule that is between us, until there's nothing left but me and him. Being held together tighter than I've ever been held isn't good enough. I need him inside of me. To be part of me. To be one indivisible body that shares the breath that fills both our lungs.  ~eARC, 70%

My honeymoon was almost everything I dreamed it would be, a tropical paradise, turquoise water, romantic walks on the beach, and loads and loads of mind shattering sex. The only thing missing was the groom.

After seven years of coasting through a relationship with Michael, my senses were numb. A week of passion with a stranger was just what I needed to clear my head and take back control of my life. But how do you move on when the man that was only supposed to be a fling somehow seeps into your soul and steals your heart?

A week in paradise. A vacation fling that was never meant to leave the island. Belong To You was a hot, hot romance that turns into a big time love.

Belong to You was a pleasant surprise. I won't even pretend that I wasn't drawn to this book based on the cover. That guy is beautiful. But so many times, I've been burned by these gorgeous book men who are more like raging jerks. Sooo not the case here.

I love books set on vacation, particularly when they feature an island romance. Jack and Sydney meet in Hawaii on what was supposed to be her honeymoon. The two meet almost immediately and their chemistry was hot. It's a great experience when an author can make me feel that connection, instead of relying on  just telling me that it's real. Every interaction between the two helped sell me on the connection more and more. And can I just say, HOLY GEEZ, BELONG TO YOU WAS STEEEAAAMMY! It's no secret that I love a book that cranks up the heat, and this book had plenty of moments.

What really surprised me about Belong to You is that it's more than the island romance. The story moves into the real world, and this is when things got real between Jack and Syd. They had to get to know each other on a day-to-day basis, and see if they could work with the challenges between them. Jack  life is a bit surprising, and it was great to see Syd face each turn and decide if it was something she could live with.

I really liked the main characters in Belong to You. Jack is a  very protective man, and is more than a little bossy. I like bossy men (as long as they don't become asses), but I find that a lot of bossy book men become a bit unbearable, and I end up feeling like I, or the character, need to make excuses for them. Jack was not that kind of character. Yeah, he's pretty Alpha, but he's not controlling or rude. He's just wants to protect the woman he cares about, and has the means to do it well. And as much as he's serious, he was also a really fun and playful man, too. Syd was very relatable, well, that is for a professional singer who looks like a model. I just really liked her. She had the same insecurities a lot of women deal with, but she wasn't necessarily insecure. She got spooked at times by Jack's life, but she managed to maintain and deal with it. I just really, really liked her and it's always nice to find a heroine who's  not annoyingly perfect, naïve, or irritating.

Belong to You was a fun story from beginning to end. It was so enjoyable to me that I managed to fly through in a matter of a couple hours. The story doesn't necessarily end on a cliffhanger, just at a time when I really wanted to know what comes next. I immediately picked up book two and jumped right in.

He looked into my eyes as he spoke. "Syd, I'm not proud of who I am or things that I have done. And I know I don't deserve you. You're sweet and good and everything that I'm not. I tried to keep away so you wouldn't get hurt, but I can't help myself when it comes to you. I never wanted to be with a woman the way I want to be with you. I want to lie under the stars with you and talk for hours, and walk in the park holding your hand. You make me feel like I can be a better man. I'm terrified of the things you make me feel and I don't know how to control it."  ~ebook, 61%

****** The sequel to Belong to You (Book two of a two part series) *******

Jack and Syd spent a week in paradise. It was only supposed to be a fling. But life can be funny sometimes, and circumstances brought them back together again. Together they seemed to have found their happy ever after. But when Sydney is offered a chance at the career she has always wanted, she must leave Jack behind to follow her dreams. Can their love survive long distance? Sydney’s touring with a man every woman wants, but he only has eyes for Syd. And an unexpected tragedy leaves Jack feeling remorseful. Can the two find a way through to forever?

So as soon as I finished Belong to You, I was lucky to be able to immediately begin Made For You. The first book ended with Jack and Syd at a crossroads in their relationship, and to be able to make it through was going to be a challenge. I was a little nervous, because many books that have a similar situation going on, are full of non-stop angst and drama.

Thankfully, this did was not the case here, so what I ended up with was a really good story that did not overly rely on all the drama to maintain tension. What I really love is when an author can give me the story of a relationship that must overcome issues from the outside; jobs, family, other stressors, instead of constant lack of communication and misunderstanding.

Made For You is basically Syd following her dream, and Jack supporting her all the way, helping her make it happen. Jack is still Jack, which means he was bossy and occasionally a little too territorial, but I still adored him. I love a really passionate (not melodramatic) relationship. These two had it. I loved that they could barely keep their hands of each other. I loved that they would do everything in their respective powers to make the other happy. I love couples that work together, maintain trust and honesty even though it's not always easy, and genuinely want the best for each other. OH! The steam factor was still super high in Made For You, and we all know that's a check in the win column for me!

From what I understand, Made For You was the conclusion to Jack and Syd's story. I was sad to let these two go, but the story is wrapped up so well and I was completely satisfied at the end. And, the epilogue was just so heart-warming and fabulous. If you're looking for a really good romance, I definitely recommend the Cole Series.

Favorite Quote:

Jack's eyes searched mine, looking for something before he continued. "You're mine Syd. And I don't want to share. Not a picture, not a smile, not a touch. All of it is mine. Only mine. You were made for me. That sexy mouth belongs to only me. I wake up every morning craving that body that wiggles beneath me. That body that surrenders as soon as it's filled with me. It's mine and I need it so bad it physically hurts when I reach over on the bed and find your warm body isn't there. So, yeah, I'm not happy about the picture. But it's the rest of it that's killing me.  ~eARC, 60%
