I'm a member of Harlequin V.I.B. One of the perks of this is receiving their books on a monthly basis. Funny story about this package. My husband walked into the house with a bag with a knot in the top and holds it up to me.
Me: "What's that?"
Eric: "I don't know. It has your name on it and it says it came from Hamburg."
Me: "Hamburg, Arkansas?" (that's a real town, the hometown of Scottie Pippen!)
Eric: *glares* "No. Hamburg, Germany."
Me: "Why do I have a package from Germany? I don't think I know anyone in Germany."
Eric: "I don't know, Andrea. There's no return name."
Me: "What do you think it could be? It looks like kinda sketchy. Check to see if it feels like a body part."
Eric: "What?"
Me: "Well, you never know, really. Just feel of it. What does the label say?"
Eric: "It's in German, I think. Just open it."
Me: "You open it."
Eric: *whips out pocket knife, slashes bag* "It's books."
Me: "Books? Yay! I just knew it was something gruesome."
Eric: *walks away*
I still don't know why the package, originally from Canada was in a sack. I also don't know why it took an apparent detour to Germany. But hey, books! And thank you to Harlequin.
