Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, just do as following:
·Grab your current read
·Open to a random page
·Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
·Be careful not to include any spoilers so as not to ruin the book for others.
Make sure to share the title and the author so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR piles.
This week's Teaser is from
First there are nightmares.
Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.
Then come the memories.
When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.
Now she must hunt.
Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember. ~From GoodReads
"If I was to be some kind of hero, how many people would I be unable to save? I couldn't even eat fries without dripping ketchup on myself. How could I be responsible for someone else's life when I couldn't be responsible for my own shirt?" (pg 87)
I'm reading Angelfire in prep to read/review Wings of the Wicked. I'm really enjoying this and will have my review up in a few days.
Hardcover, 453 pages
Published February 15th 2011 by HarperCollins / Katherine Tegen Books
You can purchase Angelfire at:
B&N | Amazon | Book Depository
I'm not the biggest angel book fan but I have heard really great things about this one. I like the teaser. I would feel the same way if somehow I ended up having to save the world. I'm a mess. I would make a horrible heroine! lolReplyDelete
I would make an awful heroine. I'd be all "I need a drink of water." or "Wait! I need to retie my shoes." I would be one of those heroes you see in parodies!Delete
Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer!
This one has been raved about by a lot of people, so I am going to have to give it a try. I do like monster hunter-type stories, so maybe everyone knows what they're talking about? I'll be awaiting your review when you're done.ReplyDelete
My review is going to be...tough to write.Delete
Great teaser! It definitely says a lot about this story, which is how incredibly awesome it is. I think I might need a re-read – thank you for sharing! :)ReplyDelete
Sounds fascinating...thanks for sharing!ReplyDelete
Here's MY TT POST - and here’s
I loved Angelfire, but I think I'm going to have to re-read before I read the sequel as I read it a while back and have forgotten some bits! Great teaser. =)ReplyDelete
Great teaser, really cute! I started Angelfire but I stopped, just not able to get into it. But I fully plan on coming back!ReplyDelete
Here's my TT
That's completely understandable. The writing isn't what I expected, but I have sort of enjoyed the plot.Delete
Great teaser! I have the same ketchup problems, sad to say. And being expected to be a hero would be pretty daunting.ReplyDelete
Here's my teaser!
Funny teaser! I enjoy books with characters who have flaws, and it sounds like this one does.ReplyDelete
Here's my teaser: Sandy's Teaser
With all of the hype for Wings of the Wicked I have been really thinking about getting Angelfire. I know I won't get to it anytime soon though so I have held off on buying it. Those teasers are great. It sounds like a really good book. Here's my TTReplyDelete
WotW has been extremely hyped. I got it for review, which was the kick in the butt I needed to read Angelfire.Delete
Thanks for stopping by!
Hints of self-doubt, there... hope she gains some confidence! Nice teaser.ReplyDelete

Oh man Andrea! I need to read this one so bad! How is it so far? It's been on my list forever & I just can't seem to get to it! Seriously, let me know how it is!ReplyDelete
This one is going to be tough, Amy. I like the plot, mostly. The writing style isn't doing a lot for me, though. We'll see...Delete
That is the best teaser I've seen so far today! Such a quotable girl-next-door-turns hero that is sure to ring with readers. Thanks for sharing. And your post is so complete - the colors, the summary, the link... fabulous.ReplyDelete
Here’s my teaser.
Annie @ CandleLit Library
Thanks so much, Annie. I try to make my posts look as nice as possible. It's so nice to hear you like it.Delete
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm so curious about this book... really wanting to read it but also unsure. I'm kinda growing out of the angel books, and I've wondered: is it at all similar to The Mortal Instruments? I did really like the Kindle sample I read though, and her insecurities in this teaser indicate some possibly interesting themes. Thanks so much for the teaser and for stopping by the blog! :)ReplyDelete
Dani, There are a ton of angel books out there, right? In my opinion, this is nothing like The Mortal Instruments. The story is different, although Nephilim are talked about, they are nothing like the Shadowhunters. To be honest, I prefer Clare's story.Delete
