Private Investigator, Gabriel Silver is healing from a deadly loss, burying himself in work and avoiding relationships of any kind. When he agrees to help a friend who's tangled up with drug dealers he has no idea the job will change his life.
Samantha Connor is recovering from a terrible relationship. She's on the prowl for a hot hook-up, with no strings attached. When she meets Gabriel, she thinks she's found the perfect man to fulfill her deepest yearnings. But Gabriel turns out to be more than meets the eye.
Soon, she's knee-deep in his latest case and on the run with Gabriel and her sexy friend Kendra. As they plot to trap the drug dealers, Samantha and Gabriel begin a thrilling game of cat and mouse. With growing feelings, danger at every turn and seduction on the table, anything can happen. When Samantha tries to help her friend and her sexy new guy, she finds herself in too deep.
Can two star-crossed lovers untangle from their shattered pasts long enough to find true love, or is Gabriel Silver about to find out that history repeats itself, and lose everything he ever cared about?
Warnings: This title contains erotic situations, graphic language, a steamy threesome and a hot girl on girl scene, satisfying hidden desires. It is however a MF erotic romance.
I was fairly excited to get started on Dazzled by Silver. It had been a while since I'd read a straight-up erotic romance. I say a while, but it had been close to three weeks, and that's about two weeks too long, in my opinion. ;-)
So did Dazzled by Silver meet my expectations? I didn't really have expectations other than some good lovin', but yeah, it did. The author jumped straight into the action - in more ways than one - and the story was interesting from beginning to end. I sometimes worry about novellas having good balance in story and pacing, but this was not an issue in Dazzled. The pacing was steady, and the story was very balance, having just enough but not too much going on.
Dazzled by Silver is mostly told through Samantha's point-of-view, but also Gabe's. I liked Sam. She was confident in herself and her body, and after coming off a bad relationship, was ready to take what she wanted. Sam is looking for a no-strings relationship with a man, but is also attracted to her best friend, Kendra. Now, this would be awkward except that Kendra is very attracted to Sam as well. The two do get physical and I won't lie, this made me a little bit uncomfortable at first, and that's just stupid, because I read books with M/M all the time. I didn't like Kendra that much, but I did like that the two were open with each other. I did like Gabe a lot. He was confident without being arrogant or a jerk. He has his issues, but I like that they didn't completely take over the story.
As I said before, the sexy was good. And plentiful. I didn't take over the story, but it most certainly did enhance it.
Dazzled by Silver did end on a cliffhanger. Not one that drove me insane, but one that did leave me wanting to read the next story to find out what happens next.
Favorite Quote:
"Gabriel. My name is Gabriel Silver."
Gabriel Silver. The sound of his name slithered through my mind. I liked the way it rolled off his tongue, feeling more precious than gold but somehow as toxic as arsenic. ~eARC, 14%

Ok don't laugh at me but when Port Charles ended I read this continuation of the story on a fan site and they made an ARC cover that looked similar to this cover. I know I'm lame but anyway, this sounds hot!
ReplyDeleteI understand how you feel about f/f sexy scenes, they aren't as hot as sword fights. Why is that?
This sounds good. And I agree with this statement: "I say a while, but it had been close to three weeks, and that's about two weeks too long, in my opinion. ;-)"--LMAO
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed this one.
ReplyDeleteI did a blitz for this book before & really loved the cover!
ReplyDeleteI shy away from M/M so I generally skip those parts with a few exceptions (Tiffany Reisz, Anne Rice & J.R. Ward). But in this case I think Babe's tryst is better if Kendra is a challenge to like.
Happy weekend!

It's good to hear that the steamy scenes didn't overtake the plot, but rather enhanced it. I'm glad you enjoyed this, Andrea! Lovely review as always. I haven't come across this book before, but I do really like the cover. It's simple and elegant. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the perfect book for when I'm in the mood for some sexy, Andrea! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI don't really read erotica, because for the most part I find that there's very little plot, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this book, Andrea. I also like that this was well-balanced, which might make me want to change my mind on not reading it.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
Sounds like another hot read. I'm glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I like my hot reads, and don't like to go too long without them too! I'm glad you enjoyed this novella, and it has you wanting to check out the sequel :)
