If you like Fifty Shades of Grey and Lisa Marie Rice, you'll love Alice's Wonderland.

When journalist and notorious womanizer Flynn O'Grady publicly mocks Alice Mitchell's erotic luxury goods website, the game is on. Determined to change his mind about sex toys and the people who use them, Alice decides to wrap her high-end silken blindfold over his eyes and teach him a thing or two. They soon find themselves locked in a game where Alice must step up the spice night after night as, one by one, Flynn's defenses crumble. To win, she must prove to Flynn that changing the routine, rather than the partner, can be the greatest adventure of all…

Alice's Wonderland was a good story, but honestly, I don't feel as if I have a lot to say about it. I really enjoyed the fact that it takes place in Australia, with the mc the owner of a lucrative sex toy business.

As far as the characters go, I really liked Alice. She was a strong, independent woman who is control and proud of her brazen sexuality. She doesn't allow anyone to make her feel ashamed or inferior about her business, even journalist Flynn O'Grady. Flynn was... okay. He started out strong and I was sure I would be all hot and heavy for him, he's a sexy Australian sufer, for crying out loud. But for some reason, maybe because he's wound so tightly, he just didn't hit the mark. That's okay, though. It takes all types to make the world go 'round.

Alice's Wonderland started out very, very naughty. That Alice, she has some wicked tricks up her sleeve, and I like that. The cat and mouse game she and Flynn play was so fun and so sexy. Sadly, the second half of the book dealt more with the affairs of the heart than sins of the flesh. However, that aspect is appealing to those looking for more emotional than physical substance in their books.

Looking for a fun, flirty escape? Alice's Wonderland could be the book for you.

Favorite Quote:

"Still, while Alice didn't agree with the raunch culture that prevailed at Hi Ho Silver, she'd defend (with one of their cheap dildos raised high) the right of any woman to take on a Tickler, Rabbit, or Climax Gem in the privacy of their own home."   (eARC, 2%)

  1. I haven't heard of this one, but that cat and mouse game seems smexy! Sometimes I feel like reading all smexy and other times I crave emotion. My smexy read this week didn't really hit the mark for me, either....it was just ok.

  2. Love this: "affairs of the heart than sins of the flesh." I had high hopes. I may still check it out sometime.

  3. This one sounds interesting, but it's too bad that it goes from steamy to more of a mental thing. Great review hon!!

  4. I like the emotional aspect to romance and smutty books, so maybe this would be my type of book. It sounds like Alice is more of the take charge girl behind closed doors and I don't know that I like that. Sorry this wasn't exactly what you were hoping for Andrea. Thanks for the honest and helpful review. :)

  6. I just LOVE these 'Frisky Fall Saturdays' posts! I'm on the fence with this one - it says in the synopsis "if you like Fifty Shades..." and I did not. I love the cover, but I wish this had been a better read for you. Thanks for sharing, and have a fabulous weekend!

  7. That's kind of sad - how can an Australian surfer dude not be super sexy? Oh well.

I do like a balance of affairs of the heart vs sins of the flesh in my erotica but this still doesn't sound like the book for me.

But as you said - it tales all types so I'm sure this book will work for a lot of people.

  9. I just read a whole bunch of short erotic stories so I'm at my fill of them, plus I like full length books I just get more out of them.

Thanks for the great review, glad you did like the story.

  10. I read this book on the weekend and I have to say I really enjoyed the evolution from sins of the flesh to affairs of the heart.

I think if you're looking for wall to wall sex scenes then this isn't the book for you but if you enjoy some genuine interplay between and evolution of the characters mixed in with your hot and heavy stuff - then you'll enjoy this one. I read it in two sittings!
