WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...

Out of Reach
When Micah disappears from home, his sister Rachel decides to secretly take matters into her own hands. Armed with Micah's best friend Tyler, she travels from the hazy, lazy suburbs of Southern California to the seedy side of San Diego's beach communities following the clues that Micah left behind. As each lead arrives at a dead end, she is left to piece together the puzzle that is her brother's life. And the sketchy characters Rachel and Tyler encounter make Rachel wonder if she can reach Micah before it’s too late. ~From GoodReads

Why I'm Waiting ~ For starters, I love the cover. The starkness. The despair. I love books in which characters must unravel clues. I hope OUT OF REACH is as good as I hope it will be.

Expected publication: October 16th 2012 by Simon Pulse

  5. I've never heard of this book, but it sounds fantastic! I love the idea of a trail/hunt to get to her brother, and the cover is stunning: simple but evocative. I also love that it's set in San Diego, since that's where I live :)

  14. I like how the synopsis doesn't over-tease us. It talks about Micah being missing and how it's "not" a good thing but it doesn't let on to the circumstances as to why he left. For all we know he could have been kidnapped, ran away, left for other reasons etc. So many possibilities... argh! *Stops book rant* Ha ha. Thanks for sharing this book. I think it sounds great!

  17. So, was he kidnapped and he left all these little clues to help someone find him? Or did he take off and she's looking for clues to find out where he left to? I'm curious.
