Favorite Quotes

Dalton

I hated that I still had a ping of jealousy when I thought of how Patrick really felt about Ava after all we have been through together. He’s a brother, a trusted member of our coven. I would trust Patrick with my life and I knew he felt the same about me. But he was also in love with my wife, and I knew it.

This quote by Dalton is really the heart of the love triangle in this series.  I found myself rallying back and forth between Dalton and Patrick because they both have qualities that make the irresistible.  I think this quote shows the brotherhood they feel for each other, even in the most difficult situation.

“Ava, no matter what this is, I’ve got you. As long as we are together, we’ll get through anything.”

This is pure Dalton.  He is confident and completely devoted to Ava, and all he cares about is being with her, not the power being with her brings.

Patrick

“Do you think you’ll ever stop loving her?” Dalton surprised me with his question.

“No,” I answered honestly, “and I will protect her until the day I die.”

Dalton and Patrick’s struggle with their connection to Ava has been a driving theme through the story.  I love this because it shows how unapologetic Patrick is about his feelings for Ava.

Ava

Ava, our carnal need to protect each other, to love each other the way the four of us do…you know it’s not real, right?”  She said it—the one fear I’d pushed to the back of my brain since the first second I laid eyes on Dalton and fell instantly in love. It wasn’t real—it was magic.

Since Always and Forever, Ava has questioned her connection to Dalton, although every step of the way, he’s proved his love for her.  I think this is a question a lot of readers have also wondered and someone finally says what everyone has been thinking.

I wrapped my arms around Dalton’s neck and pressed my body up to his to calm the shaking that I couldn’t seem to control. He stepped carefully through the waves and whispered to me, “I got you love,” as the tears fell down his face.

This is a VERY emotional scene in the book.  Every time I read this, I get teary eyed because of what is happening.
