The Rundown
So, I'm going to quickly recap what's happening with the books I received/bought. I read Her Best Laid Plans the day I got it. The story is a sexy vacation fling novella set in Ireland. It's Cara McKenna, so I obviously loved it. I've already read Twisted, but am thrilled to have a finished copy. I'm really excited to read Sweet Filthy Boy, I hope it's as good as the BB series. I've had good luck with Xcite and Sourcebooks novels so I'm looking forward to reading Substitute and Troublemaker Next Door. I'm a huge fan of Jen Frederick's and was excited when she sent me her Hitman books. She couldn't even scare me away by warning that they are"different". Imaginary Lines is the third in a series that my cousin (a librarian) recommends. Laugh is the follow-up to Live by Mary Ann Rivers, one of my favorite books of 2014. I've been anxious to read Roman Holiday since reading a post from Ruthie Knox on writing realistic sex.
As far as the "Review Consideration" books go, I'm not sure that I will be able to make time for Rebecca's Lost Journals anytime soon, but I hope to eventually. This is my second copy received. Where the Horses Run doesn't seem like my typical read, but the synopsis caught my attention. I'm thinking of giving it a try. Same with Up At Butternut Lake, it actually sounds like a great Women's Fiction. The Goblin Emperor is really not my thing. I feel bad when publishers keep sending me books in genres I don't even read.
For "Purchases", I'd been meaning to get the print of Tangled, but receiving Twisted was a great reminder (way to go publicists).  I bought Hers to Choose and His to Lose because of Amanda (Hootie's) reviews. How books with such awfully worded sex scenes can still be sexy and good is beyond me, but I can't wait to give these a try! I bought Love Hacked because Penny Reid is often recommended alongside Laura Florand, Mary Ann Rivers, and a few other authors I adore. Got Power Play because Charlotte Stein is a fantastic erotica author and it was on sale.
And "Freebies". Just This Once was a done deal when I read the words "New Zealand" and "rugby player". Sleeping with the Enemy is the second in a series and I already have book one. Violet Duke's entire Nice Girls to Love Collection was free. I've heard good things about her books.

  1. Nice haul! I didn't get too many books this week. Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. That is an amazing list! I am also waiting anxiously for Laugh because I love Mary Ann too, and I still have to read Roman Holiday because Ruthie! I haven't read Emma Chase yet but I have all 3 and I know that Sebastian York does the Audiobook for Tangled which is already a big sell for me :-) And I am waiting for Sweet Filthy Boy too because I loved all the BB series (although Beautiful Player was my favourite, and again Sebastian York does the audiobook part of Will and his voice is so McDreamy!) I haven't tried Jen's other books yet, they do seem darker than the Woodlands series. I'll have to read your review of them before I decide.

  3. Congrats on all your great books. Enjoy!

  4. I love you so much it hurts! I can't wait until you read the books of crotch!

  5. Ohh Sweet Filthy Boy. I'm excited for that one, sounds good. And I love that cover on Tangled! Happy Reading!

  6. Some sexy looking books you have there. Hope you enjoy them all.

    Happy Sunday!

  7. You've got some great looking contemporaries, Andrea! You're going to be busy for a very long time. :)
I love the sound of the Cara McKenna book. I haven't read anything by her yet though, so I might give this one a shot.
Happy reading and have a lovely week ahead!

  8. Oh I have Last Hit! I haven't gotten to it yet, but I love Jen! Sweet Filthy Boy! I wanted to sign up for the tour for that one, but ended up being good and holding off. I also wanted Imaginary Lines! I have the previous two in the series. :) I hope you enjoy all of these Andrea!

  9. Hehe The Troublemaker Next Door? That's gotta be good with that title. Enjoy.

  10. Wow Friend! You made out this week!!! I got a finished copy of Twisted and was so happy to add it to my library! I signed up for the book tour for Sweet Filthy Boy, and hope I get it! Last Hit and Last Breath look really good :) Have a great week!!!

  11. Ooooh, I'm excited for Sweet Filthy Boy! I also want to listen to her other series on audio.
I love Jen Frederick's Woodland books but ended up DNF Last Hit. But you know how picky I am with sex scenes so you might like it better. Enjoy your books!

  12. The Troublemaker Next Door sounds like a fun read! I love neighbour/boy/girl next door stories! I hope you enjoy all your new books, they look awesome!

  13. All new titles for me! I hope you find some stellar reads. :)

  14. I got the whole Roman Holiday series, too. I did read the first installment and loved it! It was cute and had me cracking up. I got Twisted as well but I'm not sure I'm up for all the drama. *sigh* Don't know what to do about that one. Enjoy all your books, Andrea! :)

  15. amazing new reads, so many! I hope you enjoy them all.

  16. Excellent haul, Andrea! I'm drooling over the Hitman books, myself. I really want to read those! And now I'm wanting to read Hers to Choose and Hers to Lose! *ha* Happy reading, hon!!

  17. We have a few of the same. I need to read a few more of McKenna's books. I know you love them!
