THE WEEKLY REWIND, #83: BOOK HAUL AND GIVEAWAY

THE WEEKLY REWIND is a weekly post in which I recap the bookish awesomeness from the past week, and post a book haul.

I'm a member of Harlequin V.I.B. One of the perks of this is receiving their books on a monthly basis. Funny story about this package. My husband walked into the house with a bag with a knot in the top and holds it up to me.

Me: "What's that?"
Eric: "I don't know. It has your name on it and it says it came from Hamburg."
Me: "Hamburg, Arkansas?" (that's a real town, the hometown of Scottie Pippen!)
Eric: *glares* "No. Hamburg, Germany."
Me: "Why do I have a package from Germany? I don't think I know anyone in Germany."
Eric: "I don't know, Andrea. There's no return name."
Me: "What do you think it could be? It looks like kinda sketchy. Check to see if it feels like a body part."
Eric: "What?"
Me: "Well, you never know, really. Just feel of it. What does the label say?"
Eric: "It's in German, I think. Just open it."
Me: "You open it."
Eric: *whips out pocket knife, slashes bag* "It's books."
Me: "Books? Yay! I just knew it was something gruesome."
Eric: *walks away*

I still don't know why the package, originally from Canada was in a sack. I also don't know why it took an apparent detour to Germany. But hey, books! And thank you to Harlequin.

Hehe I so love that story. My husband would have just said..Body parts?..It's obviously books. He thinks EVERYTHING I get is books no matter the packaging. The best part of your story is when he whips out his knife! Hehe I can so see that.

  12. Yay for Forgotten Sins! Hope you like it. I have book 2 on my tbr this month. One of these days I will finally read a Marquita Valentine book! Hope you like Maybe Someday, I don't really like books about songwriters that include lyrics in the books but if anyone can pull it off it's her. I'm reading Unraveled next. Enjoy your books and yay for no body parts!
