Nora Montgomery left home and heartbreak behind in South Carolina when she moved to New York City after her high school graduation. Now, four years later, she returns home and is forced to confront the past she left behind and the reckless boy who broke her heart. It’s not long before the pieces of her past begin to blur with the present and she realizes that the feelings she had for her first love never really went away. As old dreams resurface and new truths come to light, she begins to question the future she's always planned on.

Jake Harris has spent four years regretting the night he let her get away. When she finally reappears in his life, he is determined to win her back and prove how much he’s changed. She might never forgive him for that night, but if he tells her the truth about what really happened it will shatter the world she thought she knew. If he doesn’t, he might not get a second chance. He’s already lost her once and he won’t lose her again.

They come from two different worlds that are threatening to tear them apart…can they make it this time around?

Author Interview with Ellie Grace

What do you enjoy most about being a writer?
EG:
I love the creativity of it – being able to dream up different characters, scenes and storylines, and then navigate those characters through all their conflicts and difficulties until they achieve the happy ending that they deserve. I am a total daydreamer, so it’s fun to share the stories in my head with others!

What can you tell us about the characters in THIS TIME AROUND – their dynamics?
EG:
Nora is a sweet southern girl from a wealthy family. Because of her family, most people would assume she’s just a spoiled rich girl without a care in the world, when really she wants nothing more than to forge her own path in life. She struggles between her desire to make her parents happy, and wanting to pursue her own dreams.

Jake is a gorgeous, former “bad boy” who’s anything but privileged. He had to work hard to get to where he is, but most still see him as the construction worker’s son that caused trouble when he was a teenager.

They are complete opposites, but found common ground in each other when they fell in love as teenagers. Even after being torn apart they never lost those feelings for each other or were able to move on. Jake has a wild side that brings Nora out of her shell and helps her to realize want she really wants. Nora gives Jake a reason to strive to be better and achieve more than what is expected of him; she supports him and sees his potential even when other people don’t. Together they truly bring out the best in one another.

What is your favorite scene or was your favorite to write? Don’t forget to tell us why.
EG:
I think that my favorite scene was the initial reunion at the bar between Jake and Nora, when they see each other for the first time in four years. Running into an ex is awkward for almost anyone, but for them (since they both have unresolved feelings for one another), it brings all those buried feelings to the surface – anger, excitement, pain, love, regret, surprise – there’s so many emotions packed into that brief encounter.

Are there currently other writing projects you are working on you can tell us about?
EG:
Yes! Right now I’m working on my second book, which will be the story of Nora’s college roommate, Olivia. She was mentioned in This Time Around but we never actually met her. It’s not a sequel, but some of the characters will make an appearance.

This book (BREAK AWAY) will follow Olivia as the life she thought she wanted suddenly falls apart. With no family and no real place to call home, she moves down to Charleston, South Carolina to get a fresh start and escape her past. As she attempts to put her life back together, the last thing she needs is a tattooed, ladies man like Dex Porter – a former Marine with a dark past who will only bring her heartache if she lets him in. Still, as they develop a friendship and continue to fight their attraction, they begin to chip away at each other’s walls…but breaking away from the past is not an easy thing to do.

Break Away will definitely have more to it than This Time Around, and I’m excited to dig a little deeper with this one.

If you were not an author, what else could you see yourself doing and why?
EG:
I’ve always loved photography…the idea that you can freeze a moment in time and capture an image from a certain point of view. Not to mention that it would be so much fun to travel around the world and take pictures of all the amazing and beautiful things out there!

Thanks to Ellie for stopping by!

About the author:
I'm an avid reader and overall book lover. I love to write, and when a story popped into my head that I couldn't seem to ignore, I decided to take a shot at self-publishing with my first book, “This Time Around.” Now, much of my time is spent dreaming up new characters and planning for the next books that I hope to write. When I’m not writing, I’m usually curled up with my Kindle, reading book-after book-after book from all of my favorite authors (which is a very long list!)
