“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot. “Don’t... waste those words on me.” He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.” “No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”
College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

Please help me welcome Brooklyn Skye, author of STRIPPED! She’s stopping by today to share her writing play list for the STRIPPED Blog Tour hosted by YA Bound. As part of the tour Brooklyn is giving away a signed copy of STRIPPED; read on for more details!

***STRIPPED Cover Photo Shoot: Behind the Scenes***
Hi! Thanks for having me! Sometimes people don’t realize what goes in to making a book cover, so I wanted to share with you a look into making mine. This is my cover designer:

Her name is Lisa of Lisa Poff Photography (www.lisapoffphotography.com) and this picture doesn’t do her any justice (she’s beautiful!). Anyway, when I originally sat down with her to brainstorm what type of cover I was looking for, I mentioned the owl necklace needed to be featured and possibly the hands. She didn’t say much—to which point I was thinking (crap!) maybe she didn’t quite grasp the concept I was going for. Turns out I worried for nothing because a few days later she sent me these proofs:

Amazing, right? Once we decided on the proof, she got to work making it absolutely fabulous. Below is the editing timeline of the proof we choose, from raw picture to edited to cover:

I can’t tell you what an amazing experience it has been working with Lisa. And I hope you guys love the cover as much as I do!

  16. Oh I love hearing cover stories! I love owls, so that aspect of the cover I definitely love. I also like that this cover is different and isn't just another cover with two people kissing (which I'm honestly sick of seeing). Thanks for sharing!

  17. I have to agree with Candace. It is refreshing to see a cover with some other than people kissing or half naked. Always wondered how the author comes up with the cover for their book. Can't wait to read. Thank you for hosting this giveaway. Good luck to everyone.

  18. It's amazing to me to see a plain photograph be turned into something amazing. Love the owl necklace. The cover is wonderful and makes lots of questions spring into your mind. Much better than some lusty eyed girl or couple all over each other!
