Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's WoW selection is...
Sarah O’Brien is alive because of the pact she and her brother made twelve years ago — James will protect her from their violent father if she promises to never leave him. For years, she’s watched James destroy his life to save hers. If all he asks for in return is her affection, she’ll give it freely.
Until, with a tiny kiss and a broken mind, he asks for more than she can give.
Sam Donavon has been James’ best friend — and the boy Sarah’s had a crush on — for as long as she can remember. As their forbidden relationship deepens, Sarah knows she’s in trouble. Quiet, serious Sam has decided he’s going to save her. Neither of them realize James is far more unstable than her father ever was, or that he’s not about to let Sarah forget her half of the pact . . .
Why I'm Waiting ~ This book sounds dark and twisty. I happen to really like dark and twisty. Flawed will either be seriously awesome...or not. I'm betting on awesome.

I'm waiting on this, too, so sorry to tell you it won't be out until November 12. You know, first it was scheduled for Aug 1 and I was so hyper to get my hands on it. By now, I'm particularly pissed off that they keep re-scheduling this later and later. I want to read this sooo bad!

I remember hearing about this book Months ago. I know it's something I want to read but I can see how some might be put off by the description.

I'm not going to lie, that topic isn't one that I would normally like to read about, but you're right...it does sound twisty and dark and I do like books like that. And I love the cover...I know dandelions are a weed, but I have fond memories of them. So, considering all that, I'm going to add this to my TBR and hope that it doesn't totally squick me out. But I might wait for your review before I actually pick it up. :P Thanks for sharing & for stopping by my WoW post. Happy Wednesday! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm betting on awesome as well. I've already got mine pre-ordered ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to this one too. I added it to my TBR list a little while back. I really like the cover. It's so simple, but I love the symbolism of it!
ReplyDeleteI remember when Entangled did the voting for this cover. It's so cool. Not sure if I'll read this one, the topics are HEAVY but I already feel invested in this book since I helped "choose" the cover.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound very dark and poignant but I look forward to read it too :). Great pick Andrea !!

ReplyDeleteI keep going back and forth if I want to read it or not.

I'm not a huge fan of books like this--any book that makes me cry unhappy tears is usually a no go for me. But I hope you like it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my WOW at YA Sisterhood.

Oh my it does sound dark and twisted but also potentially a very good story. Definitely would not be an easy read.
