Fall For You (The Jane Austen Academy Series, #1: A Modern Retelling of Pride & Prejudice)
Jane Austen meets Pretty Little Liars in this fresh, new young-adult series!

* * *
The last thing that the girls at the elite Jane Austen Academy need is hot guys to flirt with. Please. They need to stay focused on something that lasts much longer: an acceptance letter from an Ivy.

But over the summer the school has been sold, and like it or not, the guys are coming. And it's about to turn the Academy--and the lives of its students--totally upside down...

* * *
To say Lizzie and Dante are polar opposites is the understatement of the century. He's a snooty Exeter transfer with more money than Google. She's a driven study-a-holic barely keeping up with tuition. It's obvious that Dante thinks he's way too good for Lizzie. And Lizzie knows Dante is a snob with a gift for pushing her buttons.

But things are changing fast this year at the Academy. And when Lizzie's quest to stop those changes blows up in her face, taking her oldest friendship with it, she has nowhere else to turn but to Dante, with his killer blue eyes, his crazy-sexy smile, and his secrets... Secrets Lizzie can't seem to leave alone, no matter how hard she tries... ~From GoodReads

My thoughts after reading FALL FOR YOU: What a cute story! I'm a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice, so the fact this story was loosely based on P&P is a major thumbs-up from me.

The characters are really sweet and fun, what we get to know of them, at least. The character I came away from this most connected with was Lizzie. She's a girl who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to accomplish that. And yes, she's bossy and pushy, so that can be a bit off-putting, but it didn't seem to get to me. I did like Anna much more than expected. I love how perceptions of people versus the reality seems to come up in this book. Those who Lizzie judges so harshly are what they seem at first glance.

The story was fairly short, I read it in under two hours. FALL FOR YOU wasn't particularly in-depth, the story maintains a light vibe throughout. I did enjoy it, but might have loved it if the story dug deeper. I wanted to know more about the characters.  Perhaps that will happen in the next book of the series.

I really think FALL FOR YOU would be perfect for the younger YA readers out there. The fun, lighthearted, and cute vibe throughout makes for a quick, enjoyable read. It was a fun way to pass a few hours and I'll definitely check out the next book.

Favorite Quote:

"He took another step, only a foot away from her, then another so they were nose to nose. He smelled good - like summer. Her heart was skittering in her chest, she swore it raced through her body. She automatically wet her lips, not sure what to expect, not sure what he wanted." (ebook, 64%)
