Review ~ ARE WE STILL ON FOR TONIGHT? Dating During the Zombie Apocalypse, by Evelyn LaFont

Are We Still On For Tonight? Dating During the Zombie Apocalypse

Rachel Finnikin was prepared for a lot of things. She was prepared to get married to a rich doctor. She was prepared drive a luxury vehicle. She was prepared to be a married lady of leisure. But she was not prepared for the zombie apocalypse that threatened to come between her and her first date with the potential future husband. Of course, Rachel isn't one to let something as ridiculous as a horde of savage undead get between her and Dr. Dream-Come-True. By allowing her underlying ruthlessness to seep out and by focusing on what could be a life-changing event for her (the date with a Dr, that is) she may just find a way to survive unscathed AND make it to the restaurant by 8PM. But will the doctor? ~From GoodReads

"Not everyone who survives the zombie apocalypse should."

Rachel is a woman on a mission: to land a man. So it sucks that on the same day she has a date with a handsome doctor, the apocalypse strikes. But Rachel's not giving up so easily. She fully intends to keep her date, and will brave the zombie hordes to make it.

I didn't realize until I started reading ARE WE ON...but I have missed author Evelyn Lafont's special brand of storytelling. I read the first chapter of this on her blog quite a while ago, loved it, and have been waiting since then for the finished product. This novella did not disappoint. And at only approximately eighty pages, it gave me a nice break between books.

ARE WE STILL ON FOR TONIGHT? is a fun addition to LaFont's collection of works. I highly suggest it if you're up for some zombie fun.

    1. I am seriously going to have to break down and buy a Kindle. I just jumped onto my Nook to buy this novella, and it's not there. That's the second time this week that's happened to me! B&N may be dying the slow death...

    2. Hi Camille,

I don't usually chime in on review comments because...I dunno, it feels awkward or something...but I wanted to let you know that B&N is so not dying. Make love to your Nook without feeling the sting of an illicit affair. For this book that Andrea reviewed, I was taking advantage of an Amazon exclusivity offer for a temporary period. It will be back on B&N in June. I can't send out any copies now (part of the exclusivity) but if any B&N or Sony or other customers are unable to buy the book, they just need to email me, tell me what format they need and I'll send them a free copy once my agreement with Amazon ends.

  6. This sounds funny! It kind of reminds me of that movie from the 80s called Night of the Creeps where the guy is like, "Girls, the good news is your dates are here. The bad news is they're dead." Tragically, this line also frequently applies to online dating.
