TEASER TUESDAY

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along, just do as following:

·Grab your current read
·Open to a random page
·Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
·Be careful not to include any spoilers so as not to ruin the book for others.

Make sure to share the title and the author so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR piles.

This week's Teaser is from
First there are nightmares.
Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her.

Then come the memories.
When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie's power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie's memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream.

Now she must hunt.
Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember. ~From GoodReads

 My Teaser:

"If I was to be some kind of hero, how many people would I be unable to save? I couldn't even eat fries without dripping ketchup on myself. How could I be responsible for someone else's life when I couldn't be responsible for my own shirt?" (pg 87)

I'm reading Angelfire in prep to read/review Wings of the Wicked. I'm really enjoying this and will have my review up in a few days.

  1. I'm not the biggest angel book fan but I have heard really great things about this one. I like the teaser. I would feel the same way if somehow I ended up having to save the world. I'm a mess. I would make a horrible heroine! lol

    1. I would make an awful heroine. I'd be all "I need a drink of water." or "Wait! I need to retie my shoes." I would be one of those heroes you see in parodies!
      Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer!

  2. This one has been raved about by a lot of people, so I am going to have to give it a try. I do like monster hunter-type stories, so maybe everyone knows what they're talking about? I'll be awaiting your review when you're done.

  5. I loved Angelfire, but I think I'm going to have to re-read before I read the sequel as I read it a while back and have forgotten some bits! Great teaser. =)

    1. That's completely understandable. The writing isn't what I expected, but I have sort of enjoyed the plot.

  7. Great teaser! I have the same ketchup problems, sad to say. And being expected to be a hero would be pretty daunting.

    Here's my teaser!

  15. That is the best teaser I've seen so far today! Such a quotable girl-next-door-turns hero that is sure to ring with readers. Thanks for sharing. And your post is so complete - the colors, the summary, the link... fabulous.

    Here’s my teaser.

  16. I'm so curious about this book... really wanting to read it but also unsure. I'm kinda growing out of the angel books, and I've wondered: is it at all similar to The Mortal Instruments? I did really like the Kindle sample I read though, and her insecurities in this teaser indicate some possibly interesting themes. Thanks so much for the teaser and for stopping by the blog! :)

    1. Dani, There are a ton of angel books out there, right? In my opinion, this is nothing like The Mortal Instruments. The story is different, although Nephilim are talked about, they are nothing like the Shadowhunters. To be honest, I prefer Clare's story.
