From the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Kendall Ryan comes the sexy and seductive Resisting Her.

Agent Cole Fletcher lives for his job at the FBI, and he’s more than ready for his next assignment—raiding a cult compound and putting their leader behind bars. But he isn’t prepared for Savannah and her knock you on your ass good looks. At nineteen, she’s too old for foster care and too damaged to live on her own. With nowhere else to go, and against his better judgment Cole takes her in.

But helping her out won’t be easy. He comforts her through screaming nightmares and escaping the lingering fears of her past, but that’s the easy part. Her preference to sleep cuddled up next to his warm body, and her desire to please him in every way makes her harder and harder to resist.

Resisting Her is the story of a vulnerable young woman, the man cares for her, and the love that saves them both.

In a couple of ways, Resisting Her reminded me of Kendall Ryan's first book, Unravel Me. And I loved that. We once again have a psychological angle (albeit, not as severe as in Unravel Me), with Savannah having grown up in a cult, naïve to the ways of the world. Also, the "forbidden" relationship angle is again at play. Cole is an FBI agent, assisted in taking down the cult Savannah lived in, personally carrying her out of the building. Once the rescue is finished, Savannah is placed in a safe house, since she is of age. But Cole can't forget the beautiful, quiet girl, and once again rescues her. He knows he shouldn't take her home with him, shouldn't let her become part of his life, but the two become closer, with an undeniable attraction, and he can't resist her.

In Resisting Her, Ryan was able to portray the characters; their motivations, their wants and needs so clearly, that it is easy to see why they want one another. A relationship that may seem all sorts of wrong from the outside, becomes the story of two people who a good for each other and simply meant to be.

As always, Kendall Ryan brought the steam. Now, I'm going not to delve to deeply into the scenes, but I will say this...look out for Chapter Sixteen and Chapter Twenty-four. Those were two personal favorites of mine.

Resisting Her was a heartfelt, emotional, and steamy story. I always love Ryan's books and am always excited and ready for more.

He glanced down at his naked chest and abs. His pants had slipped ever so slightly down on his hips, exposing his lower abdominals and the lines along his sides that formed a deep V at his hips. He tightened the drawstring, doubling the knot. Down boy. Now was not the time to get a hard on.  ~eARC, 17%

 Interview with Cole Fletcher
Ohhh, you guys. I had the chance to do an intimate interview with the gorgeous and charming Cole Fletcher! I've gotta say, the man was a pleasure to chat with.
Check it out!

I watch Cole enter the coffee shop and literally have to brace myself, placing my palms flat on the table in front of me. He’s tall, dark featured and ruggedly handsome. This man just oozes sex appeal. His eyes scan the café and he spots me alone at a table by the window, wearing red as I told him I would be.

He strolls across the room, his eyes on mine as he approaches. He stops in front of me, his fine, lean body invading my personal space in the most enticing way. I press my hands into the table to keep from reaching out and unbuckling his belt. That’s right, baby, just lower those pants for mama. Shit. Keep it together, Andrea!

“Andrea?”

I nod and offer him my hand. “Nice to meet you.”

His big hand is warm and calloused, and wraps around mine like a glove.

“Have you ordered? What would you like?”

“An espresso please.”

Cole nods. “Good choice. Sit tight.”

Oh, I will sit tight. I will sit tight and ogle his behind as he walks away. God, Andrea, get a grip. He’s with Savannah, I remind myself. But it’s just harmless looking, right? And he is built so incredible. Broad shoulders, tapering down to a trim waist, a black t-shirt just snug enough to hint at the incredibly body beneath. I have to look away. I’m getting all squirmy.

Cole returns moments later carrying two white porcelain espresso cups and saucers. How cute of him. He ordered the same as me. Sigh…

It’s a Sunday and suddenly I wonder if Savannah still worries about him leaving the house on Sundays. No, I push the thoughts aside and open my notebook of questions. I see Cole’s mouth turn up at the glittery pink notebook emblazoned with the Bookish Babes logo across the front.

“You look well. How you are? How’s Savannah?” God, I’m rambling.

Cole’s eyes drop from mine to the drink in front of him as he smiles. Sweet baby Jesus, he has a dimple. How did I not know this information? This hardened, tough FBI-agent has the most adorable fucking dimple in his cheek. The boyish charm only adds to his appeal.

“Things are great actually. Better than I would have imagined. And Savannah is…” His eyes dance on mine once again, and I can see that he’s really, truly happy and in love without him even needing to say the words. “Savannah is incredible."

“That’s great.” God to have this man’s lips on mine. I shudder. Focus, Andrea! Or maybe just those big warm hands… “So first question my readers at the Bookish Babe want to know is what was your first impression of Savannah?

Cole scrubs his hands across his face, and his smile fades. “God, I hate to even remember her like that. She was fucking terrified. A bunch of men with guns were raiding the compound. I could see the fear and confusion in her eyes. I wanted to lift up her up, hold her tight and carry her out of the that mess. And I did. Of course the moment her soft curves were pressing against me I realized that was a bad idea. Her hair smelled like vanilla and it had been a long time since I’d been with a woman. I didn’t expect her to affect me like she did.”

“How did you resist her for all those many months?” Please say jacking off…please say jacking off.

“I hit the gym extra hard. Lots of jogs. Cold showers. And…” He laughs, a rich deep chuckle tumbling from his beautiful lips. “That’s pretty much it,” he adds, regaining his composure.

Why do I feel both cheated and the sudden need to take a cold shower? I take a sip of my espresso, the strong flavor bursting across my tongue and fortifying me. “What would people be most surprised to learn about you?”

Cole leans closer, like he’s about to let me in on a secret. “Probably that under all this, I’m really just a softie.”

I have to bite my lip to keep from laughing. “Noo…you?” He was in a complete panic when Savannah got her period, he sheltered her from everything, gave her a puppy, a birthday party at a skating rink… does this man really not know he’s a complete softie? Aw. Cute.

He nods.

“Any final thoughts for my readers?”

Cole looks up, his dark gaze locking on mine. “Yes. Girls that read are sexy.” He flashes those sexy dimples at me again.

And with that, I’m done. I am totally and officially team Cole. And I need a panty change. Damn.
